GeM or Government e-Marketplace is an e-commerce portal to facilitate and enable easy online acquisition of consumer goods and services needed by several government departments, associations, and public sector undertakings in India. The sole purpose of this online portal is to enhance transparency, efficiency, and speed in public acquisition along with inclusion. To avail all the benefits of the GeM, one needs to register themselves as a buyer or seller on the online GeM portal.


Documents Required for GeM Registration

    One will need to submit some specific documents during the registration for gem sellers which are as bellow:

  1. ID Proof (PAN Card)

  2. Company Registration Certificate, Udyog Aadhar, or LLP-associated requirements

  3. TIN or VAT number (if required)

  4. Copy of the cancelled cheque from the bank account of the applicant

  5. Proof of the applicant’s bank account and the supportive KYC documentation

  6. Trade Mark certification

  7. Memorandum of Association (MOA) of the company

  8. Article of Association (AOA) of the company

  9. Address proof of the registered office of the company

  10. Mobile number (Linked with Aadhar Card)

  11. MSME Certificate (if any available)

  12. NSIC Certificates (if any available)

  13. The latest ITR Computation


PROCEDURE FOR REGISTERING ON GEM

    One need to follow the following steps to register them on GeM website:

  • STEP: 1 – VISIT THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE

      First visit the official website of GeM. Now, register yourself under seller account by clicking on the “seller” tab. After that, it will redirect you to the page of “terms and conditions”. Make sure to go through the module carefully before tapping on the “accept” option.

  • STEP: 2 – FILL UP THE FORM

      After accepting the “terms and conditions” of the website, you will be redirected to the gem seller registration form. You need to concur and submit some specific details about you and your organization.
      The process for registration is simple and once registered, a GeM user id and password will be provided to access the seller account. Through the seller account, the seller or service provider can list its products or services offered by them along with their price. The seller is free to set the price of the product as per his/her costing. But it is important to include in the final price, the cost for logistics, packing & taxes, duties etc. along with a suitable margin to arrive at the Selling Price on all inclusive basis, stipulate percentage of Excise Duty, Service Tax & CST/VAT as applicable, with delivery at site basis.
